The life insurance subsidiary of Insurance Co. is based in USA and provides personal life insurance products globally. Insurance Co. Life is a rapidly developing company with substantial growth Asia and Latin America.

Traditionally Insurance Co. had managed IT strategies on a country by country basis and now sought cohesion across operating regions. The objective of the engagement was to provide Insurance Co. with a clear direction for their global application portfolio, by developing a target architecture showing how it’s business strategies could be supported and defining a framework for managing technology in its regions, focusing on supporting the growing markets in Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

The engagement delivered the client a Baseline Architecture describing the linkages of strategic objectives to capability,  capability to application, application to technology and a Target Architecture and Application Roadmap detailing the major programs of work required to achieve the target state. 

At the conclusion, Insurance Co. had for the first time a defined direction for IT globally. The strategy, signed off by the executive committee of the company, identified and described programs of work for channels, product systems and data and analytics, together with a recommendation to found the nucleus of a global IT function in South East Asia. The Application Roadmap clearly related business motivation, key strategies and business pain points to the program of work, which enabled the executive to support the outcomes and required investments, including acceleration of investment in a mobile sales and service channels for the Asian and Latin American markets.
