Career Summary

Karl started his IT Career in IT Hardware support installing WANG VAX terminals at Rothschild’s Five Arrows investment bank. He then moved through Level 1, 2, and 3 support in IT operations for various Australian Banks including Commonwealth, St George and Westpac through the 90’s. Karl then moved his career to be recognised as a Microsoft Certified Trainer, facilitating learning for IT professionals. He then moved between owning my own training company and consulting on projects for IBM into major banking clients all through the early 00’s.

After this, Karl moved into Strategy and Planning as an Enterprise Architect applying practical techniques across frameworks like BABOK, TOGAF, PRINCE2 and ITIL to formulate Solution Portfolios of change to guide IT Investment and implementation for businesses across the Mineral and Mining, Utilities and Insurance sectors from the late 00’s through to 2016.

Karl has worked through the full IT Value chain from Planning to Building to Running an IT System. This has seen him add practical experience for his students to help bring the theory to life.

Karl is a highly experienced trainer who has interweaved his training experience with a career in the Technology industry. He holds an Assessment and Workplace training Certificate IV. This is coupled with 5 years full-time classroom experience training IT professionals on TOGAF 9.1 and various Microsoft Engineering Platforms.

Taking my students through a journey from having Information on a given subject through to understanding how we can use it wisely to make good IT Architectures for our customers and ourselves.  Data – Information – Knowledge and then Wisdom.
